Flying Kites: A March Pastime
It's March in our city, which means two things: warmer weather (can I get a high-five) and the weekend activity of flying kites. People here love flying kites. Our apartment building is located along a canal, and on Saturdays and Sundays, the sky outside our home is filled with floating diamonds of color as people gather in the canal (dried up from the lack of rain) to fly their kites. Of course, we welcome any excuse to get out of doors. And our girls (especially A) love flying their kite. So we join the crowds and enjoy the reminder that spring is indeed coming. It also gives us a great opportunity to meet new people. And as you'll see in some of the pictures, that's not too hard for us to do. :)
After a fun first day of flying, our kite was sadly stolen. So the next weekend, we walked down the street to buy a new one. We had a few kites to choose from.
This is what my girls call the playground (aka they have no idea what a real playground looks like). It will be filled with water in the summer, but for now, it's a great place to play and meet new friends.
This is what happens when we stop the stroller. For one second. It's crazy out there, people.
