Weekend of Fun

About once a month, our family travels to "the big city" to stock up on butter and cheese and drink a Starbucks that is oh so expensive but so totally worth it. This month, however, we decided to make a weekend of it. One of the perks of living in this area of the world is that you can stay at a five-star hotel for the cost of a two-star hotel in the States. So we said...hey...we've been living in Asia a few months now, it's Christmas, and we could use a weekend of fun. Such a good idea. The hotel was ah.maz.ing. We were pampered...and we liked it. We swam in the pool, we ice skated, we enjoyed peppermint mochas whilst listening to Frank Sinatra sing Jingle Bells whilst sitting on very comfortable sofas in a very atmospheric Starbucks. We even had Papa Johns delivered to our hotel room. Sigh. Good for the soul. And we came home with 12 blocks of butter and 8 blocks of cheese. We like butter and cheese. All in all, it was a weekend very much needed, a refresher for our family. And here are the pictures to prove it.

The courtyard outside of our hotel. Trees. Fountains. Pretty. Yessssssssss.

Boots are laced, she's ready to go.

A natural.

Don't try this move at home.

One very cool Starbucks.

Five-star breakfast. Yum.

The kids' favorite activity.

Enjoying the lights.
