Pink Poison
The following pictures show two blissfully ignorant girls enjoying the fun of pink flowers. This fun was a result of being in another city and finding a park with beautiful trees covered in beautiful flowers that also beautifully covered the ground with a beautiful pinkness. It was any little girl's dream come true.
But there's more to the story. Whilst having the time of our lives playing in these beautiful pink flowers, a man comes up to us and tells us, with much severity, to stop. The trees, the flowers, the ground have all been sprayed with a poisonous pesticide.
The blissfully ignorant just got wise. And this mama got a wee bit mad. Could a sign at least have been posted? How were we supposed to know that we were playing in a field of poison masquerading as pinkatastic beauty? And it really would have been nice to know all this before we buried our faces in the flowers. Oh, country in which we live but whose name I will not say: our list of things we can safely enjoy is dwindling. Sighhhhh.
The flowers are pretty though, aren't they? Not as pretty as my girls. But still.

this. is. CRAZY! I'm so sorry that happened... sheesh...
ReplyDeleteIt IS crazy. But we're slowly realizing that it's not so unusual. We have a small area outside of our apartment that's covered in clover, and the girls love playing there. But we were told yesterday that it too is covered in dangerous pesticide. Which basically means our girls' options of safe play areas is dwindling. Sheesh is right.
